Happy Halloween!

We had the good fortune to celebrate Halloween TWICE this year- once in a party on the weekend, and the second time when we headed out trick-or-treating on the big day itself.

The girls in their carebear costumes, ready to trick-or-treat!

The whole family sending out a carebear stare!

Look at that loot!
Mom & dad may or may not have helped eat some (most) of that candy :)

Pictures from the Halloween party:

The kids played a game where we piled candy and treasures mixed in with a bay of hay.
The kids were more than happy to dig through the hay to find the goodies.
And throw a little hay for good measure

Finding treats!

And all the costumes at the party:

Frankenstein & his bride and Firefighters

Ralphie from the Christmas Story

Duck Dynasty & Lions

The little witch from Kiki's Delivery Service

Hedwig & Gryffindors

Park ranger, National Park & baby Goat

Little Bo Peep & her sheep

Monster & Bumble Bees!

Super-heros, Mariner & Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz

October pictures

A photo from Grandpa Marc's visit- taking a little rest by the lavender!

My 33 birthday! I'm getting some help with the candles from the girls.

Meredith is really into climbing into and on onto everything.
This time it's a happy ending.
Other times? Stuck in a basket.

Meredith's First Birthday

To celebrate Meredith's first birthday we had a fairy-and-gnome party for all our little friends. It was a blast! Here are a few pictures from the big day.

Gnomes and their homes decorating our house for the party

Fairy wings for the kids to wear (there were gnome hats and & beards too!)

Ginny showing her sister the ropes on how to open presents.

The birthday girl!

Sporting the gnome hat!

Birthday cake was a cake topped with 'dirt' (jazzed up pudding and layer of crushed oreos)
in a fairy garden.

A little smash cake for Meredith

Diving into the cake!

Opening presents (Ginny is rocking the fairy wings!)

Meredith had a wonderful first birthday. We were lucky to have Grandma Annie & Grandpa Marc there to help us celebrate!

It's A Small World ~ Ginny's Second Birthay Party

For Ginny's second birthday we decorated with our house with paper dolls of kids from around the world and rainbow flags from last year's birthday party.

She had a key lime birthday cake decorated to look like the earth (turns out Todd is a pro cake decorator :)

We had food from around the world- sushi, quesadillas, hummus, quiches, pretzels & beer dip, and for dinner hot dogs on the grill (Ginny's favorite :)

We borrowed a parachute from Aunt Jamie and a bag of a 100 little balls. This was a huge hit. The kids had a blast shaking around the parachute and throwing the balls back on.

And after the kids had all wandered away to check out the tiny crabs on the beach at low tide, the parents had some fun of their own.

Ginny knew all about presents this year and opened them like a pro.

As a special treat we had homemade Orange Juliuses to drink

Some of the kids at the party (a few had left or were feeling camera shy)

Time for cake! Two big candles to blow out.
